7-30: Again with the white trout!

Went out about 9 last night with some friends in from Louisville, KY. They've never really been inshore around here, but surf-fished for a few years while down. The bite off the N sode of Ono was slow at first, but they were quality fish when they did take the bait. We caught 3 nice respectable specs. Once the whites started bitin' though that's all it was for the next 3 hours. We had some sprinkles early on, but right as we were getting back towards the dock, the bottom fell out. It dumped as I hurried us to the boat lift and then quit, right about the time we got under cover! Go figure!

All in all a great night with three noobies! Maybe they'll send me a pic later today (once they wake up) and I'll stick it on here...

We were pretty selective about what we kept. Either mortally wounded or reasonably sized... I bet we threw back 5 for every 1 on the stringer, the bottom 3 are good specs.

What's with the reflective shoes...secret white trout weapon?

Yeah, they're meant to mimic the glowing eyes of live shrimp...
