We poked our head out on the N side of Ono between storms on 5-22 and had an hour and a half gap that resulted in some 'hold onto what you got' chop, even while anchored. The wind blew like crazy so I did not to get to fish the lagoon much and went to the beach....The waves were rough a couple days and we had to go to 6oz weights to even be able to fish at all. We had a great time and caught several blue's and my buddy BB caught a 35" red in the surf. I caught a ray that probably weighed 30 -40 pounds....that was a fun fight. They are traffic cams for Mobile and Baldwin counties. WKRG's website shows you the location of each traffic cam, which makes finding the one you're looking for easier. I use these cameras to see how foggy it is on the water or how rough the bay and rivers might be. It's a lot easier to use these than trying to catch the morning news. What type fish will typically be biting then? I will be limited to fishing from beach, piers, and seawalls. I have caught flounder and pompano from the beach a few years ago using live sand fleas and dead shrimp. Is artificial bait really as good as they advertise it to be now? Thanks for any info. Didn't take long before I hooked up with this fish. I missed a good fish in the same spot last week so I am thinking this was him. These redfish here commonly have a deep bronze color from the water and multiple spots. He also had a scrape on his head as you can see above.
