Friday I was planning on taking my dad fishing but he was unable to attendent so I had to go by myself. I got on the water around 3:15pm and headed towards the southen end of Daphne. I have never fished that far south of Daphne but I was hoping to find some fish. I get to an area with lots of mullet and pogies and I feel pretty good about the area. The water was green clear and salty. I start off throwing a rattletrap and pick up a 15" trout and get a few more bits. The water I was fishing ...

Got a call from BlueAgave midday saying the big boat might be gettin' in the water. Headed out to the big water from Ft Morgan about 4 pm and we were fishing by 4:45. We were lucky to have some sho'nuff fishermen with us in the Father-Son team of Vic & Hunter. The Game Fish doesn't get to get out on the big water very often, but when he does he likes it to look like this...

Went out about 9 last night with some friends in from Louisville, KY. They've never really been inshore around here, but surf-fished for a few years while down. The bite off the N sode of Ono was slow at first, but they were quality fish when they did take the bait. We caught 3 nice respectable specs. Once the whites started bitin' though that's all it was for the next 3 hours. We had some sprinkles early on, but right as we were getting back towards the dock, the bottom fell out. It dumped as ...

The fisherman make every effort to bring their catch to the scales alive, especially because of the $ on the line. Many of these tournament fisherman have started using oxygen infussion systems in their live wells to help keep their catch alive. Even some boat manufactures are putting oxygen generators in their new boats.

I am not a tournament fisherman, but became interested in this because when I buy large amounts of live ...

Rough water going out, about 45 minute ride to the chicken coups. All four were using live pinfish at first. After about 15 minutes with no hits changed to frozen cigar minnows. It was go time. We caught fish for the next 3 hours till we caught our limit. Then changed to squid on a circle hook and caught one triggerfish. Very good trip for leaving the dock around 3:00 and being back by 8:00. Many beers were had.

The trailer wass a single axle Perfromance w/ a dented fender on the left / port side. Was prolly stolen Sunday night from my place about mile marker 2 on Ft Morgan Road.

Well, the fam was in town and my stump-knockin' step-brother was fiendin' for some saltwater action. We poked our head out on the N side of Ono between storms on 5-22 and had an hour and a half gap that resulted in some 'hold onto what you got' chop, even while anchored. We caught a huge sailcat, 3 small white trout, and then while he was reelin' in a big-a$$ed stingray, the drops started falling. All in all lucky to have gotten out and gotten in while still reasonably dry.

Greetings to all. The family and I are coming in from Louisiana to vacation near the Flora-bama area the first week of June and I wanted to pick up on some salt water action while we were there. I was just curious if any of you gents would be kind enough to offer suggestions as to where I might be able to drop a line and catch a few fish with no boat and minimal tackle. If live bait is suggested perhaps you could recommend local bait shop as well. I am just going to catch and release as I ...

We had a great time and caught several blue's and my buddy BB caught a 35" red in the surf. I caught a ray that probably weighed 30 -40 pounds....that was a fun fight. We used cut bait..(lady fish we caught) for bait. ...

Me and Mrs Killer ventured out today for an afternoon of riding and fishing. Weather cooperated mostly, and there was a LOT of boat traffic. Picked up a nice spec and a big Sheepy across from sailboat bay. Hit the cut under the Plash Island bridge and fished the south bank and picked up 3 more keeper specks along with half a dozen or more small ones and some croakers and whites mixed in. This post sucks because no pictures are avail. Great day on the river!!!

From Saturday May 9 in South Baldwin County:

I FINALLY got a chance to fish with my ole fishin padna "the hardest working realtor in the Mobile area" on Saturday.

We had made plans to fish Dauphin Island, but @ 4am the wind was just blowing too strong (up to 20 knots) to do what we wanted to do.

So a quick 'Plan B' was formulated to launch in Gulf Shores and fish east to try and find shelter from the wind.

We put in under the Hwy 59 bridge with 6 dozen mixed (mostly small) ...

Put in at the new city ramp (old Mo's, very nice) just before 4pm. Drifted by the pass and caught this 16" speck on a new penny jerk shad

Worked that area for a little longer with nothing, moved to try a spot near the pass where a lot of fish were moving around Saturday evening and caught a nice healthy 18" speck

the wind facilitated this excellent camera work

Anyway, I had dinner for two and headed home to Game Fish Minnow and Game Fish Mate.

Here are 2 more websites that I use. They are traffic cams for Mobile and Baldwin counties. WKRG's website shows you the location of each traffic cam, which makes finding the one you're looking for easier.

I use these cameras to see how foggy it is on the water or how rough the bay and rivers might be. It's a lot easier to use these than trying to catch the morning news. The clarity of the cams could be a little better.

I have caught flounder and pompano from the beach a few years ago using live sand fleas and dead shrimp. Is artificial bait really as good as they advertise it to be now?
I've been waiting for the flood waters to recede enough to do some fishing on the upper end of the bay. Today was the first time that I've been out in about 2 months. This is a pic of Myself and my nephew Samuel. It seems like fishing will be picking up as the river levels go down.

Curiosity led me to this endeavor, as I guess most endeavors begin. Anyway, I wanted to compare the redfish that we have caught and been fortunate enough to have the camera on board--size, color, spots, etc. Please post your favorite red pics.

3/29/2007--this red was red snapper red

4/13/2007

4/19/2007--yeah I killed a big one that day--but he was good on the half shell

4/21/2007--good day, those yellow shirts had them reds fooled
