Huge tarpon weighed

What a giant fish Matt Zieman weighed. What do you think about bringing these fish to the dock? Should the tarpon category be catch and release only? What benefit does the Dauphin Island Sea Lab get from receiving these species? Tell us your thoughts.

To my knowledge it's about the ONLY tarpon that's been killed in the ADSFR in several years.
Yes, it offers valuable knowledge to young biologists to study.

IMHO the current voluntary C&R tarpon catagory is working well enough.

Thanks for your input, Pier#r. One of the side benefits the Rodeo offers that often goes unnoted is the huge resource of study for the scientists at the lab. Although I hate to see a huge fish like that taken from the sea, there is also that side of me that is fascinated by the big tarpon on the wall in the Tarpon Room at Wintzell's.
